Over the next 25 days we’ll be sharing classic holiday songs, modern holiday songs, classic holiday songs sang by modern groups/singers and some songs that just sound like holiday songs because they use sleigh bells and sing like Bing Crosby. I hope you’ll enjoy as we haphazardly choose (I realize that’s ironic) some holiday tunes for you.
Well, we made it. The impending 12-21-12 Apocalypse didn’t claim any of us and I manged to share 25 of my favorite holiday tunes with you. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle of the holiday season (how many of you are actually shopping right now?) but make sure you take a step back to remember the true reason for the season. I think our little blanket toting friend, Linus said it best:
We’re super thankful for any and everyone who reads, has shared, liked, re-blogged our little nook of the inter-webs this year. We hope you all have a Merry Christmas and awesome New Year. We have big plans for 2013!!
Day 23 – One of my favorite bands, Go Radio and one of my favorite Christmas songs “O Holy Night.” I personally think they bring an interesting mix to this song with some guitar and lead man Jason Lancaster kills it with his vocals. I get goosebumps at 3:25 every time.
Day 24 – At this point I’m convinced that the Avett Brothers could make fart noises with their armpits and play the recorder and I’d still love the music that came out. So I’m only slightly biased here. But they did a beautiful job with I’ll Be Home for Christmas. And that’s all I have to say about that.
Day 25 – If you’ve ever seen It’s a Wonderful Life, then this scene has undoubtedly choked you up. Maybe you even squeezed out a little tear. I had to look up Auld Lang Syne which for the purposes of the song loosely translates to “For old times sake.” I hope everyone has an amazing Christmas!
